My thoughts of Les are full of respect for his independence of thought yet community spirit; for not wasting words but unfailing courtesy; of what a marvellous partnership he and Glyn enjoyed; table tennis memories include being not exactly overjoyed when on the opposite side of the net watching his fierce forehand (which moved in several directions at once) flash past, but very much enjoying being on the same side to admire it……he was his own man and it was a pleasure and a privilege to know him.
