Back in the early 2000’s I had an interview at Astra Zeneca and went to stay with Uncle Les and Glyn the night before. He very kindky drove me to that interview and I will always remember how particular he was about making sure I had got to the right exactly the right place for where i was expected before he went. 

Also, small world, but I ended up marrying Tom, who was from the same part of the world as Uncle Les. Tom’s grandad was, back then, an active council member and knew Uncle Les. His strong reputation filled me with pride to be his niece when his grandad spoke about knowing him and what an asset he was to the council. Then a few years later, Toms mum started playinh table tennis in the same U3A group. I think he was always someone she tried to win against!
